Yesterday, during the last day of conferenece, the the EGU General Assembly devoted to the research topics aimed at addressing sustainable development. Our team member Carla Sciarra participated in the session “The Importance of Being Global – Globally coordinated Research Infrastructures to support the UN system”, scheduled at https://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU21/session/40713 with her work on network-based approaches for measuring countries' progress with respect to the Agenda 2030. By exploiting the network representation of countries and Goals' performances, aggregated scores of countries' status are naturally defined. This network and data-based approach define the shared responsibility of countries in achieving global sustainable development, and confirms the existence of the trade-offs between environmental and economic issues. Her abstract ”Measuring countries' progress in sustainable development through network theory” (Carla Sciarra, Guido Chiarotti, Luca Ridolfi, and Francesco Laio) is available at the link: https://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU21/session/40713
