Kick-Off Event of the Water To Food Communication Campaign

by Water To Food Team

The kick-off event of the Water To Food communication campaign was held online on March 22nd, 2021, to celebrate World Water Day 2021. This year's Water Day focused on valuing water in everyday life, from food to cultural practices, from hygiene to productivity. Raising awareness is necessary to preserve water resources from its growing threats (human overexploitation and climate change). Thus, it urges the creation of a communication bridge between science and society that can help taking care of water resources, and this is why the Water To Food team chose World Water Day for its kick-off event. We aim at becoming pioneers of a new way to communicate water and water-related science to a broader audience, from householders to stakeholders and decision-makers.

"Start small, think big.'' they say: we started disseminating our science-communication results by addressing the Italian speakers community; nevertheless, all contents have been created for targeting the international community. We are hopeful we will be able to address a broader audience soon in the future, but we need your help: follow us here or on Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin, Twitter, and YouTube. We look forward to answering your questions and reading useful feedback about our work.

The highlights of the event "Il cibo che mangi, l'acqua che non vedi - Scienza e società insieme per restituire valore all'acqua'' ("The Hidden Water-Facts of your Food Baskets - Bridging Science and Society for Giving Back Value to Water'') are here available for you to know more about our team, vision, and mission. The video is English subtitled.
